I had been very apprehensive about going to a chain salon such as Borics but took a chance and went to the Saginaw Borics by Best Buy and I have never been happier! Not only was the price pretty cheap, but I finally found someone who can do the works on my unruly curly long hair! I got highlights and wanted only a trim but with layers and my hair always gets chopped or its way to short and its never how I wanted but i've found my new go-to gal! Her name is Jess and is the manager there so that's maybe why I got so lucky... she was smiley and sweet and had so many suggestions I felt like she actually cared about making me love my hair again! Not only that but she asked me if I wanted coffee and wasnt sloppy or rough with my hair I have never felt so taken care of especially at a place like Borics. I have tried tons of expensive salons and always walked out ready to cry. I will never let anyone touch my hair again but her. Go to Jess. I went in to BoRics on Lawndale Rd 1-17-2013 to get my hair trimmed! I even took a picture of myself to show the stylist how I wear my hair and said I don't even want it that short though just a trim! Well Shayla, my stlylist, almost scalped me! My hair is so short and chopped I can't even use a small round brush to blow dry it! I am so angry and can't understand why she would do this unless she has an attitude with her profession or can't cut hair! I will never go into this salon again and will tell everyone I know what happened to me there! ...read more

The Avenu is not a bad place. They do have stylists there who know how to cut your hair the way that you would like. Not all stylists there can though...we have had a few bad expierences. Nothing too major. Most of the staff are great, friendly and well trained in there special area. There are however a few ladies at the front desk who are not professional and do tend to attempt to talk down to you among other things if there is a problem. I have dealt with this for years, it had only become a large problem the last 2-3 years. I have been a loyal customer for nine years, spent thousands of dollars there and yet due to an error that encountered I was treated with disrespect, reluctance to fix the problem and that my loyal customer support over the years were meaningless.
