I had high hopes for this place. I had heard the food was good and reasonably priced. I had a positive first impression: cute, small restaurant / cafe type of a place. We were immediately seated at 6pm on a Saturday and drinks were brought promptly. So far, so good. We ordered entrees: slice of pizza, lasagna, and chicken piccata - one of that evening's specials. The bread and olive oil were very good. Salads were brought out and they were fine. Nothing special: lettuce, 2 cherry tomatoes; 3 skinny slices of cukes; shaved carrots. The balsamic vinaigrette dressing was tasty. Entrees came next and that's also when the disappointment arrived. My chicken piccata was very, very bland. If I shut my eyes, I would not be able to identify it as chicken or piccata. No flavor whatsoever. The sauce was lumpy and jelly-like, and lacking in any taste normally associated with piccata: lemony-butter with the saltiness from capers. Nothing. The slice of pizza looked like it was standard Italian bakery fare. I didn't try it. I was told that the lasagna was good and took my spouse's word for it. I expressed my disappointment to the waiter who came back a few minutes later to explain that "Maria", who normally preps everything, didn't make the picatta sauce, so "Jason", who was working that evening, made it. I wasn't interested in having it remade, since it was obvious to me that the replacement would be just as bland and waiting would mean eating alone and holding up my party, so I passed on that offer. It's hard to say if I'll go back but if I do, I'll probably stick to the regular menu items, hoping that there won't be any surprises with them. I almost rated this 2 stars but after re-reading my assessment, I realized that the 1-star rating of "Eh" was most fitting to my experience. ...read more

We brought in a coupon that said buy one dinner get one free from the local coupon paper, showed it to the waitress before we ordered and she said the max they would give us is $7.00 off our total bill. That is not what the coupon said and we were too tired to argue as we just came from the funeral home.\t\n\t\nI ordered the seafood cannelloni for $14.00 only received ONE. There was about as much food as what you get in a Lean Cuisine or a Michelina's frozen entree you pay $3.00 for at Kroger. Was not TOLD I could have another one by our waitress, my husband's food was skimpy as well we went home HUNGRY and angry. My husband ordered diet coke and was served it in a can. Ok but then if he wanted another they charged him another $2.00, at least I was smart and ordered ice tea. My refills were free. Whoopie!\t\n\t\nNo bread on the table not even bread sticks. No water on the table. There was a large screen TV with ESPN on. Seriously? In the dining area of an Italian restaurant? It was a 90 degree day and the air conditioning was obviously on the fritz plus there was a ceiling fan that looked pretty but also was not turned on.\t\n\t\nAt the same time ordered dinner we ordered a pizza for our kids, told us they were out of "large pizzas" we could buy 2 small that were very very small, more like personal pizzas not the generous size slices they claim on their menu, kids were also hungry after their itty bitty pizzas.\t\n\t\nSpent $55.00 plus tip. Probably the value of the dinner was less than $15.00, quite the mark-up. Italian food is supposed to be plentiful not skimpy! You are supposed to honor your coupons properly.\t\n\t\nThis place was horrible and we will NOT be returning. I suspect this place will be closed by the end of the year. ...read more
