Received a postcard stating that I was due for eyeglasses. (I bought my first pair from them without difficulty.) Went in and received my eye exam and glasses only to have the insurance company deny the claim. Apparently I was 17 days shy of the renew date although the postcard stated an earlier date. SVS admits that it was their mistake. They actually told me they would resubmit the claim at a later date. They then called about a week later and stated that I could either pay 1/2 of the expense or bring my glasses back and they would make me a whole new set and resubmit.. They said they had to do it this way because it would be fraud otherwise. I told them there was no way I was going to pay a penny more (I had already paid quite a bit for add-on that I knew the insurance company did not pay for-Latex coating.... ) I elected to take the glasses back to SVS and and have a new pair made as they stated. I received the new glasses. I received a bill about two weeks ago for just over $100. I called again and they stated that it would be taken care of. It wasn't and today I received another bill with a notice that they will turn it over to a collection agency. NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH SVS. Hopefully calling the corporate office today will bring satisfactory results. ...read more
