Grand Rapids Community College Pre School Laboratory

ReviewThere is way too muchanalyzing of children going on in this preschool. It is more about analyzing children and less about letting kids be kids. NO matter how hard teachers try, kids are going to be kids and nt be robots. Would not recommend this school for a relaxed feel good environment. It's more about creating ittle robots who are EXPECTED to ding ding ding: say. act and do what the teachers expect. Sadly. life doesn't work that way no matter how this staff imposes their overthe top expectations of such young children. It's way too much and when do the kids have fun? Stop analyzing the kids and let them find their way with loving and gentle guidance . Dvelopment can't be mapped , ithas to come naturally and with a loving hand. thumbs down ...read more

Alphabet Soup Day Care Center

1.0

I took my son out of this center after just 1 day! His diaper was soaked and obviously hadn't been changed in hours, plus 1 side was hanging off of him and the tab was stretched all of the way across his stomach. It left a terrible welt for 2 days. They took his comfort item and put it in a different room, he was so upset! I was then told that it wasn't important and to just leave it and buy another one. There was offensive rap music blaring in the infant/toddler areas. A baby was left unattended asleep in a swing (without straps fastened)...no one was in the room with her and didn't even check on her for over 45 minutes. My son cried and shook for 3 hours and begged me not to take him back (he's 1 1/2). He was scared to death of the staff when I picked him up. He had a black eye and I got no explanation for it. When I called the center to discuss these matters, I was called a liar and was told that the reason he got treated differently is because it's a predominately black daycare and my son is white.Sorry but I thought all kids were to be treated equal!!! I would stay clear of this place...they schedule their tours to put on a front. Go in unexpected to pick your child up and you'll be very surprised at what REALLY goes on while you're away! ...read more

The employees at Brilliant Beginnings are very kind and sweet to the children. The are very patient and don't talk "down' to the kids.\t\n\t\nDon't let the outside of the building fool you - it may not be the prettiest or newest on the outside - the inside is warm and friendly and totally child friendly. ...read more
