Detroit is a part of the southeast region/metro area of Michigan, known for its contributions to the automotive and music industries. Major attractions include the Motown Historical Museum, and Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History, Belle Isle, Detroit Institute of Arts, Greektown. Throughout the year Detroit hosts special events and festivals, including Winterfest, Detroit Riverdays, Cityfest, and one of the worlds largest electronic music festivals Movement (formally DEMF). Detroit is home of the Big Three automotive manufacturers Ford Motor Company, and General Motors and Chrysler. Two of the most notable schools here are Renaissance and and Cass Technical High School. Built in the late 1920's, the Fox Theater on Woodward Ave. has been designated as a National Historic Landmark and still hosts some of the finest acts in entertainment. Famous persons from Detroit include Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker, Francis Ford Coppola, Jeff Daniels and Henry Ford.
