While the West Oakland Railroad Museum is a great place to visit, Commerce has many other great places to visit that encompass the history of Commerce. The Historical Byer's Homestead, known by many locals as the Duck Farm, was settled in 1825 by the first European visitor to Commerce and has remained, practically, unchanged since it was built. The Commerce Sign is also a great piece of Commerce Township history. The giant sign is all that remains from the old Commerce Drive-in Movie Theatre. Citizens of Commerce find the sign to be nostalgic and a symbol of the city. Commerce Township is also home to many wonderful parks like Dodge V (five). The park contains many play structures and walking paths as well as a soccer field and basketball courts.
Commerce Township is a quiet, little town that continues to grow each year. Commerce has great places to eat, plenty of entertainment, tons of small and large lakes, and an excellent school system. Our hospital is top-notch and rated as one of the best in the nation. It is a great place to live and an even better place to raise a family.
