Abalone and Pearls!

Two of my favorite materials to work with are Abalone and Pearls.  The natural luster that radiates from these materials is exquisite.  The new abalone I just got in is the most beautiful I have ever seen!  The colors are so amazing-and they naturally come this way!  Reminds me of the beauty of the ocean. Also, I just made a piece with these awesome violet/blue coin pearls and one of my old favorites the Peacock Stick Pearl.  They just make me want a tropical vacation even more than I already do. Check out some of my new designs "Into The Deep"&"On The Shore" at www.PatricianArt.net.  I've used my new Abalone in one&my new Pearls in the other. ...read more

Natural Turquoise and Copper Jewelry

Something about the combination of natural turquoise with copper creates a harmony that is unmistakable.  The materials just seem to belong together.  The beautiful orange/pink of the copper in contrast to the bight blue/green turquoise really make a "pop" of color.  My copper and turquoise jewelry designs continue to be my best seller.  Visit my website at www.patricianart.net to see some of my new one of a kind designs.  Custom work is always welcome! ...read more

Petoskey Stones

I've noticed that this year Petoskey Stone jewelry has been more popular than ever.  My copper cuff bracelets and rings with petoskey stone cabochons set in them have been my biggest sellers.  The stones also look great set in sterling silver with gold accent detail.     I think perhaps Michiganders are trying to take pride in our state dispite the economic turmoil.  Therefore, people are wanting to keep the money at home and are investing in pieces that come from Michigan- like the Pestoskey Stone and yes, copper       This interesting stone is a variety of Calcite.  It was formed by the fossilization of ancient coral, Hexagonaria.  The coral lived in shallow waters and today's fossil often includes ancient silt and mud.  Petoskey Stones are found on many beaches of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, as well as in rock quarries from Traverse City to Alpena.  It is the official Michigan State Stone!!!    To find one of a kind Michigan artisan jewelry with Petoskey Stones and Copper you can visit my website at www.patricianart.net.    ...read more
