Kelloggs Cereal City USA

Back when I was a young teenager I went with my family to Cereal City U.S.A. and had a blast! I've been wanting to go back but haven't had the means. I just now (date: 2/18/13) found out that it has been closed for years. In my opinion, someone should re-open Cereal City and merg with Post Cereal or some other cereal company. I really miss that attraction and want to go back. ...read more

Lil Chef Cafe

2.0

By Kg50 at Citysearch

My boyfriend and I went to Lil Chef Cafe recently on a Sat. morning. First impressions: walking in, we were not greeted by the 3 people standing behind the counter. Awkward! Always weird when you walk into an establishment like a restaurant and are not greeted but rather stared at blankly. To be fair, one was a kid who looked about 10, the other maybe a high-school girl (who looked pretty vacant). Still, not sure why we weren't greeted with a "Hello" or "Sit anywhere you'd like!". So we grabbed an open booth. Table was not cleared yet; still had food sitting on it. Place wasn't super busy and is small so one waitress should be sufficient. A few minutes pass and the waitress comes to our table to clear it and give us menus and ask us what drinks we'd like-coffee, water, etc. \t\nThe menu is fairly typical of a Coney Island and has a good selection of breakfast food. We ordered and while waiting overheard the booth behind us complain to the waitress about the service. She said something along the lines of, "Well, I have a lot of duties besides waitressing. Sorry." Um okay? Perhaps you need another waitress?! So what exactly is the h.s. school girl behind the counter doing? She wasn't bussing tables, cleaning up, or cooking...basically she could have been helping out with waitressing duties, but rather she seemed to be killing time hanging out behind the counter with her younger brother perhaps.\t\n\t\nAfter the people at the booth behind us left, I heard the waitress telling the h.s. girl about their complaining; yeah you might not want to do that within earshot of other customers! Later, the owner came out from the grill area to talk with the watiress and she was telling him about the people complaining and I actually heard him say "I tell people, good food, bad service!" What?! Well that about summed up Lil Chef Cafe perfectly. Good food just don't expect anything other than lackluster service (with barely a smile). Honestly I'd rather go get breakfast at the Griffin in downtown B. Creek, where I always know the waitress will greet us with a smile and friendly service (and the food is good too). Also there's no kids loitering around behind the service counter! ...read more

Homespun Restaurant

1.0

By KarenKE at Citysearch

My husband and I went to Homespun for breakfast on a busy Saturday morning. After being seated and placing our order, we waited 45 minutes for our food to appear. Two customers, a single man and a family of five, who came in after us, were serviced their orders. We told our waitress that we had to be some place so she needed to cancel our order. We went to the register to pay for our coffee and she wouldn't ring us up until she found the manager. After a short wait, she told us that the manager said we had waited too long to cancel and had to pay for our order. We paid for the two breadfasts and the coffee and left. We will never go back there and used to be our favorite place to go for breakfast. ...read more

Don Pablo's

By Larry Belanger at Citysearch

We love to go to Don Pablo's! The atmosphere is fun and festive. Casual and comfortable. The menu has a great variety, and choices for all ages. The margaritas are made to order, with your favorite tequila. Fast and friendly service at any time. The free chips and salsa that arrive before your meal are made fresh and taste great! The meals are always hot, and the blend of flavors is unlike an other. We will continue to visit this restaurant as often as possible. ...read more

O T's Up-N Smoke BBQ

2.0

By Sheryl Puetz at Citysearch

Let me start by saying that the sauce definately top of the line. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich w/ Fries. let me tell you right now, don't! The Pork was very dry and definately not pulled pork. Pulled pork should be completely pulled and moist, this was not instead it was full of dry chunks of pork . The Fries tasted as if they sat in grease too long and not at all that tasty, unless you like that after taste left in your mouth. I would expect either more food or much better quality for the price that I paid for. Food should not be just thrown in container. Take some pride in your product.! ...read more

Moonraker Lounge & Restaurant

Stopped here while on state bowling tournaments with a group of 16. Had to sit outside on the patio to be seated all together, which was ok, but kind of chilly! It did have a nice view.\t\n\t\nWe stopped here because they have "the largest selection of menus items in the area", which is probably true!\t\n\t\nFood was just ok, nothing special. A couple of them didn't like their meals at all. One of them ordered the meatloaf. When she told the waitress how awful it was, the waitress said, "Oh, you mean the feetloaf? That's what we call it here." Totally disgusted, she went in the parking lot and thew up. ...read more
