Sneaky contractors may promise you a moon or else and many of them getaway with that.There are many homeowners in Metro Detroit Area left behind with no warranty and leaky roofs because those kind of contractors meant to go out of business. Many contractors don't even have a physical business location, some of them running their "company" out of car,truck,trailer or even home. Most of the homeowners do not do their contractor background check. Check with state, how long company has been in business, established company should be more than 5 years, check their references,credentials, ask them for at least 100 references, call your local building department if that contractor registered with them, check BBB.
