I had so many misgivings about going to David's Bridal. I'm a plus-size bride, but I have a big wedding budget and never thought, in a million years, I would buy a David's Bridal dress. I had dreams of either a custom-made gown or just a really unique, original dress. My appointment was at a certain time (made three weeks in advance), and I was kept waiting for quite a while while the one consultant tried to help every single other customer who also had an appointment. Meanwhile, an associate, who clearly looked like a manager, walked around, yawned, and look at what dresses the other brides had tried on (without offering a real opinion or offering to help). My consultant, Sharon, was clearly overwhelmed and was forced to do too much at once. She was really sweet, though, and the issues with service clearly were not her fault. The second the other appointments ended, Sharon focused her attention completely on me, but I must say, my impression is still poor, due to the way it all began (and was for at least a half hour). However, the selection was even better than I thought. I did my homework; looked online and wrote down style numbers I liked. Despite that, the dresses looked even nicer in person, and I ended up buying a dress that day! I even bought a tiara, which I didn't think I would buy. The dress was on sale and even without the sale, the dress was incredibly low in price. I recommend going to David's Bridal as one of a bride's appointments, but it should not be the only place a bride goes to. ...read more
