I took my girlfriends car to Mr. Tire because I thought the caliper needed to be replaced and didn't want to mess with it in the snow, as well as the pads and maybe one rotor. I took the car in at 2pm and was out the door by 2:15. I received a call about an hour later and was told it needed pads a rotor and a caliper like I suspected. I was quoted $376 and change. I said go for it. I received another call at 3:40 and was told the car was done. I was also told that the caliper did not need to be replaced and the total was $333 and change. I was a little upset as I would have done this job for $75 had I known that it was just going to be the pads and a rotor but they went ahead and did it anyway. The first thing I asked about was the caliper and was just told it was working fine and was cleaned. So by doing the math the caliper would have only been $43 installed at Mr. Tire. That's a great price to anyone out there that needs their calipers replaced seeing that just the part costs from $35-95. So I was billed 2 hours of labor which was probably 5 minutes over 1. I got 2 new rotors even though I just replaced them not that long ago and I'm sure one was fine. Ill give them the benefit of the doubt but I really do doubt. So all in all the problem that I suspected and the mechanic told me needed replacing wasn't fixed and I'm out $250 cause I certainly would have done a the pads and rotors myself. ...read more
