I don't understand the 1-star review. Oak Appraisal Services was the most professional interaction I have experienced in quite a while. Mr. Mersereau observed all of the 'good business' practices [showed up on time, explained the process and why he must ask the questions] and did a very thorough inspection of our property. Of course, we were hoping for a much greater value [but who isn't?!] and in today's market we were satisfied, because his numbers were all proven and justified. Please avoid this appraiser at all costs unless you want an inaccurate, unprofessional job coupled with extremely poor customer service. Robert Mersereau oakappraisal@hughes.net made inaccurate descriptions of the home being appraised, made sq footage mistakes in the appraisal and used more foreclosures than sales for comparables. Some of the foreclosures were not even livable! Maybe some of his mistakes were made because he was scribbling down notes on an old used manila envelope. That’s not very professional and not what I want to see when thousands of dollars ride on a good refinance opportunity.
