We stayed at the crooked river campground in Casco, Maine a few years ago. It was a nice campground on the crooked river. Our tent site was great right near the river. The only thing is that they had a 10pm curfew and they lock the gate at 10pm so no one can get out or in. Every time that we take a trip to maine we like to goto the bridgton drive in the movies usually last until 1:00am. We got back to the campground and the gate was locked. We had to wake up the owners to come out and open the gate. No one told us that they closed the gate at night when we first checked in so this is probably why this had happened. There was one more night that we went out to rick's cafe in naples maine. We informed the owners that we would be coming back a little late so they left the gate open. A great campground! We did have a blast but as we learned if you plan to be out later that 10pm inform the owners so they will leave the gate open for you if they still have one there. Have Fun in the river! ...read more
