Stayed in a cabin that was big, clean and well equipped.Cabins are on the lake with private docks.Affordable boat and kayak rental and you take it right to your dock.We rented fishing gear for $3 for the entire day. Big firepit with grate for outdoor cooking.Fully supplied kitchen. Great scenery. Easy day trip to Acadia and BarHarbor.Lodge is nice for a rainy day, especially for kids. Surrounded by wild blueberry and lupine fields.Granite boulders everywhere.Closest grocery store is 45 minutes away so stock up on the way in.Camp store is limited. Staff is A+! Friendly and helpful.Remember to take bug spray and have a great time like we did. Cabins and CG are only open to military ID card holders. This is a special place for all military families to relax. ...read more

This was probably the best camping place we have been to in a very long time. Very clean, quiet, bathrooms are a bit small but clean. We had campsite #14, I think this is probably one of the best, right on the water. Staff very helpful. Store was plentiful. It was great that we could rent boats to fish on the lake. The yurts were nice and the cabins very clean and big. The only downside is that check out is 10:00 for campsites. I can understand checkout at that time for cabins, but not for the sites. We will be back, we already have a reservation for October. ...read more
