I gave this rating based on my experience with most of the lactation consultants at gbmc when I have birth there in July of 2014. I did, however, have one consultant who deserves a much higher rating than 5 stars. My son was placed in the nicu shortly after giving birth for his breathing patterns. During that time I had multiple lactation consultants come to my room who were forceful, condescending, abrasive and in some cases just plain rude. They did everything but help me become more comfortable with the idea of breastfeeding, in fact they made me want to do it much less. None of them were compassionate to the fact that I had just given birth and trying to come to terms with the idea of my son being in the nicu for days. I was devastated and all I wanted to do was make trips to the nicu to see my son and then rest. After I had been released and my son was still in the nicu's care I decided to stay in a parent sleep room until I could take my baby home. While there, Kim, a lactation consultant that was in the nicu helped me. She was nothing short of amazing. She was kind, understanding, patient and while being informative was never forceful or judgemental like all the others. I can honestly say if it wasn't for her I never would have breastfed my son. I can not express how helpful she was to me. Stay away from this man! He writes a concoction of meds that will render you useless. Like the other commenter stated, he pushes tons of meds on most if not ALL of his patients. Funny, because most of them are on the same thing. (We talk while in the waiting area). I was ALSO on Morphine Sulfate.....that was just one of many. When you tell him they make you loopy, he continues to write them for you. Or put you on something similar. He writes tons of meds because he gets money for writing them! He's been sanctioned for injecting his patients with too many injections! He lied to his patients to get them to write testimonies about how he helped them to use them in COURT! Look it up! Get the word out there, he's a QUACK! He was shut down for 3 months because of this and lied to everyone. He also tries to get you to get your family and friends to come to him. He says he will help them with pain (ok I get that), he said he can be their psychiatrist (???) and just their general doctor (again ???). He's a crummy doctor and only worries about money. Oh yeah, and Blue Cross blue shield won't accept him anymore. He shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine anymore. I have a feeling if the state knew all of this that he wouldn't be. AVOID THIS MAN. Poor, poor physician!! I was given a price and then he charged 2 1/2 times more. Asked for a detailed itemized bill sent to me of what exactly was done that the price was so much more and all I got was a standard bill with cosmetic procedure listed. I have no idea what was done but I was grossly over billed. He will not have any contact with you after the fact. Asked receptionist to give him a message and she said she was not allowed to.
