About Savage, MD
Savage, named after John Savage, a Philadelphia merchant and mill owner, is located in Howard County, Maryland, in the Baltimore metro area. It is on the Little and Middle Patuxent rivers and was once a textile center. A Major attractions in the historic town is the Savage Mill Manor House and historic Savage Mill. One of the best places to visit when you are in Savage is 1,310-acre North Point State Park, which is located within 20 miles of Savage on Chesapeake Bay and where you'll find a visitor center and picnic areas and where you can spend the day fishing or hiking on trails. A well-known resident of Savage has included singer/songwriter, Benny Mardones.
