WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Caton Properties

Made the mistake of entering into a dual agency contract w/ Michael Cavey, an agent. When he was unable to find us a suitable property, we found our own. Because we found a new build, complex transaction requiring the purchase of land and a builder contract, we allowed him to receive a commission. After WE negotiated and signed the contract, he disappeared. Our's and the builder's calls and emails were ignored for nearly 2 months. A call to the broker, Wm. Iampieri, resulted in me being insulted and lambasted as a "pest buyer", being told "not to bother him on vacation", "Cavey does not have to return our calls", "he can't be bothered with 1 lousy house sale", etc, etc. etc. Look elsewhere for an agency. This one is worthless. ...read more

We are a corporate RELO from Pennsylvania. We made the mistake of entering into a dual agent contract w/ Michael Ladd Cavey, an agent at Weichert Caton. He diligently spent 1.5 days showing us houses. We then struck out on our own (due to frustration w/ selections) and found a building lot and builder to build us a house, w/o any assistance from Mr. Cavey. Cavey was present at the signing of the contract, then disappeared. Emails and phone calls from us and the seller/builder were ignored. We were forced to find a temp. rental house on our own. ZERO support and responses were received. We asked for a copy of our agreement to no avail. I made a phone call to William Iampieri, the broker and was noisily told he did not care, did not want to hear from a pesty buyer, did not want to be bothered about 1 lousy house purchase, etc. We will be filing a complaint with the MD RE Commission. Nasty, obnoxious, and non-responsive. Incredible lack of response in this lousy RE market. ...read more
