When seeking out the ideal window treatments for your office, exam room, labor and birthing suite, senior living facility, waiting room etc, it's very important to know what aesthetic, feel, light filtering function, color and design you're looking for. This is why we have broken down some terminology for you. Okay - here we go! Opacity: Essentially meaning obscurity. 'Opacity' is how much light can pass through the material allowing you to see through the fabric. For instance, 0% means that absolutely no light will pass through that fabric. While on the other end of the spectrum 5% to 20% fabrics will allow for significant light to filter through, while still blocking UV rays. This is what makes our solar shade materials so unique and innovative. Black Out: This terms speaks for itself. A blackout fabric will provide complete light block from the window that it's treating. This is ideal for rooms that require complete privacy, darkness and no ability to see out of the shade. Dual Roller Shade: This option provides the tenant a single fascia or hardware with two corresponding shades. Any combination of light filtering shade can be selected for a dual system. For instance, you may put a 5% openness facing towards the room, and a 0% (or blackout) facing towards to window, to provide for complete blackout or a beautiful light filtering shade. Motorized Shades: As technology pervades our lives, and allows for complete control and automation, motorized shades have become an extremely popular choice in commercial window treatments. Motorized shades are easily operated by remote and add convenience, high tech and quiet operation, with any style, whether casual, modern or elegant. Motorized shading can be integrated and automated with your audio visual, and lighting control systems, all with the touch of a button! So, there you have it.
