Oregon Ridge Dinner Theatre

My husband and I attended the production of "The King and I", in Cockeysville MD. The show was presented as a dinner theater including a buffet, which we did not arrive early enough to enjoy. While we were pleased with the show, anyone considering attending, should be aware that it is comprised of a local cast and crew many of whom are students of the associated school of the arts. The theater is small and all of the tables have an excellent view of the stage, though the chairs are hard and uncomfortable; our waitress was friendly and fast with our drink orders, however the selection of wine and beer was relatively limited. I would recommend the experience, but only to those who enjoy local theater. \t\n\t\n ...read more

I think the other review was written by a cast member's mom. Either that or they saw a different show. It was awful in every way, from the cheezy sets to the crumbling building to the bad singing to the awful acting. This is not the Phantom that is well known and loved. If there is a god in heaven, this one is forgettable. That's about the best I can say about it. The food was worse than high school cafeteria, but the desserts were okay. The Phantom sounded like he gargled with razor blades before singing. Yuck. Reminded me of a two-bit show you might see in a church basement somewhere. I'm from New Jersey, and all I can say is if this is "Baltimore's" actor theater, I feel sorry for Baltimore. Avoid at all costs. ...read more

“The center of the stage is where I am.” ~  Martha Graham He stands on the stage relaxed, yet rigid. This posture is his makeup.
