Worst (and most expensive) mistake of my life
If you sign a contract with these people, they will continue to charge you annually forever. The only way out is to pay an $800 fee. Don't believe any verbal assurances you may get

By C. Hanson May 21, 2010 at 08:26 AMMartin Lake is a SCAM!
My husband and I visted Martin Lake Resort because they sented a card in the mail saying if we visted the resort we will receive a new computer. We got scam, my husband gave them $20.00 in cash and wrote 2 checks for $154.00 each. The sales person said we will receive a card in the mail saying when to pick up the computer. They cash one check then the letter came saying we had to pay $2,000 dollars to get the computer. I immediately stopped payment on the other check. We went back to the resort and demand to speak to the owner. We told the owner we could not afford a time share at this time. The owner reimbursed us the check for $154.00 plus the $20.00 my husband gave them, then he tore up the contract and told us he was sorry for the misimformation. That was over 10yrs ago, now this month April 2009 Bayside Recovery has put on our credit report we owe them $9,328 dollars. What a scam they need to be dealt with. People be aware of this SCAM! NO STAR! Tony and Lisa of So. Milwaukee,WI

Buyer beware!! Don't get ripped off by Martin Lake Resort. They will sell you a membership, then rent their RV sites out to non-members. 75% of the time you cannot get an RV site, even though they guarantee you a site. If you are able to get a site, they put you in an underdeveloped site. The park is not maintaned very well, the sites are too small, the resort is to wet. You will have to pay your mainenance fees every year forever and ever. Regardless , if you are able to travel or not.

Buyer beware!! Martin Lake tries to sell you a membership fee with annual dues. What they fail to tell you is that the annual dues are forever and ever. You cannot cancel them. You can try to sell your membership but their staff talks the prospective buyer out of the purchase. So you want to pay over $200 a year when you are not using the resort? Don't get ripped off with their deceptive tactics.

We stayed here and the owner was really pushy, wanting to show our cabin off to prospective members while we were staying in it. When we politely declined he became irritable and pushy about the matter.
We went for a quiet weekend with family and there was a huge company picnic with a DJ going all day long about 50 yards in front of our cabin. I wouldn't go there again.
