Island Counseling Center PC

1.0

By NotPsycho

Filling out the intake form by electronic tablet seems futuristic but when you cannot complete the form without submitting to receive information about a particular drug that is horrendous. In less than 5 minutes without even doing some preliminary evaluation Dr. Och a cool calm and collected medical professional begins to push the latest and greatest drug. This professional also should not have a prayer rug hanging on his wall. This is a huge operation where it seems that their primary interest is to push the latest and greatest drugs that are pawned off by large drug manufacturers. ...read more

Salvation Army

1.0

By Kaite Lawson at Citysearch

I have frequented the Salvation Army in the past as a great place to get things you need that are reasonably priced & its re-using instead of buying everything new. I'm glad that places like this exist because a lot of us can't afford to buy things new especially with the state of the economy. I am however appalled to find a non-profit ""charitable"" organization taking advantage and trying to make a profit on used donated items. I went in last week and saw a vintage fur cape, probably from the 60's, it was marked at $14.99, but it had a seam that had come apart so it would need to be fixed. I opted not to buy it so I could think about it, however, when I returned to buy it, I found that they had marked it up to $44.99 since last week. They claim that this was done because it was real fur, but that makes no sense, I bought a MINK fur cape there with no flaws for only $20.00. I decided to look further and notice that they had marked up several items I had previously seen, including a very worn and dirty Coach bag, from $29.99 to $99.00!!! Also, many of their winter coats had been marked up as well. I personally find this to be deplorable. It seems to indicate they are trying to pull a profit and they are doing this right before the holidays, like many retail stores do, but don't want you to know. So buyer beware, these days even ""charity's"" are out to take advantage... ...read more
