Our New Renovations!!!

The past few weeks have been incredibly busy for us here in the office as we prepared for the renovations we were getting ready to undergo, waited for the work to be done, move our things back in, clean, work through the kinks, etc...WHEW!  It's been just an amazing amount of work and we're so excited to be open once again :D  Yesterday was our first day back to "work" after almost 2 weeks of being closed, it was eye-opening to see how much I really missed seeing my patients!!  Our office looks amazing and I'm very excited to have it be seen.  It is still kind of in a state of flux as we decide on decorations and a few other needed items but from ceiling to floor, everything's new and fresh.  We've been fortunate to have had an amazing contractor, Tom Kelly, and his crew who helped in more ways than they ever signed on for and always with a smile on their faces.  Only today the electrician was here installing new energy efficient lights throughout the office so we're even "green"!  The phone lines are ALL working again...yesterday only 1 line was working per room so you can imagine how crazy that was as we ran from room to room to get both lines ;)  We feel so fortunate to have this opportunity to refresh our work environment and hope that you will all like the new changes!! We hope to be seeing you soon!!  As always you can feel welcomed to follow us on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/DavidVReganOD ...read more

Computer Vision Syndrome

We see quite a lot of this and anticipate that the amount of people affected will continue to grow as companies strive to become more and more green (paperless).  It's especially difficult to deal with the older you get as your eye muscles don't have the same degree of elasticity they do when you're younger.   Take a look, while you're reading this, and notice the distance it is from your eyes.  Much closer than looking across the room!  Notice the angle of your head, if you're on a laptop you're looking slightly downward.  If you wear corrective lenses, contacts or glasses, your lenses aren't designed for this distance.  If you wear multifocals you're using the distance part of your lenses to see the screen.  One of the big things that bring people into the office is tired, sore eyes.  The strain caused by looking at a computer screen, no matter how good the screen, is tremendous and if you're one of the bazillions of people who spend multiple hours sitting in front of one imagine how hard your poor eyes are working to accommodate!   Within the past few years new lenses have come out designed specifically for use with computers.  We've fit several people with them and the results are always the same--people are thrilled!  Their eyes feel better, they can see without straining and their headaches are gone.  The top portion of the computer lenses are designed for a mid-distance allowing the wearer to look across the room and see clearly without sacrificing comfort when working on your computer.  If you haven't already done so we highly recommend asking your eyecare provider if computer lenses would be a good fit for you--you'll be glad you did.  ...read more
