Harmful effects\t\n\t\nResearch had demonstrated a number of serious consequences of cyberbullying victimization.[4][6][7][8] For example, victims have lower self-esteem, increased suicidal ideation, and a variety of emotional responses, retaliating, being scared, frustrated, angry, and depressed.[6]\t\nOne of the most damaging effects is that a victim begins to avoid friends and activities, often the very intention of the cyber-bully.\t\nCyberbullying campaigns are sometimes so damaging that victims have committed suicide. There are at least four examples in the United States where cyber-bullying has been linked to the suicide of a teenager.[6] The suicide of Megan Meier is a recent example that led to the conviction of the adult perpetrator of the attacks.\t\nIntimidation, emotional damage, suicide\t\nThe reluctance youth have in telling an authority figure about instances of cyberbullying has led to fatal outcomes. At least three children between the ages of 12 and 13 have committed suicide due to depression brought on by cyberbullying, according to reports by USA Today and the Baltimore Examiner. These would include the suicide of Ryan Halligan and the suicide of Megan Meier, the latter of which resulted in United States v. Lori Drew.\t\nLost revenue, threatened earnings, defamation\t\nStudies are being conducted by large companies to gauge loss of revenue through malicious false postings. Cyberstalkers seek to damage their victim's earnings, employment, reputation, or safety. A 2008 High Court ruling determined that, generally speaking, slander is when a defamatory statement has been made orally without justification. Libelous statements are those that are recorded with some degree of permanence. This would include statements made by email or on online bulletin boards.[28]\t\nAdults and the workplace\t\n\t\nCyberbullying is not limited to personal attacks or children. Cyberharassment, referred to as cyberstalking when involving adults, takes place in the workplace or on company web sites, blogs or product reviews.\t\nA survey of 1,072 workers by the Dignity and Work Partnership found that one in five had been bullied at work by e-mail and research has revealed 1 in 10 UK employees believes cyberbullying is a problem in their workplace.[29]\t\nCyberbullying can occur in product reviews along with other consumer-generated data are being more closely monitored and flagged for content that is deemed malicious and biased as these sites have become tools to cyberbully by way of malicious requests for deletion of articles, vandalism, abuse of administrative positions, and ganging up on products to post "false" reviews and vote products down.\t\nCyberstalkers use posts, forums, journals and other online means to present a victim in a false and unflattering light. The question of liability for harassment and character assassination is particularly salient to legislative protection since the original authors of the offending material are, more often than not, not only anonymous, but untraceable. Nevertheless, abuse should be consistently brought to company staffers' attention. ...read more

Dr. Donald Sonn: Academic and Professional Success

Donald Sonn has a long history of academic and professional success. He began his education at State University of New York in Stony Brook. He made the dean’s list during all four of his years there. The dean’s list is an honor given to students who achieve outstanding academic success over the course of a year or semester. The fact that Donald Sonn made the dean’s list during all four years shows that he was an intelligent and hard-working student. His hard work paid off when, after his graduation from the State University of New York, he was accepted into the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University. During his time there, Sonn continued to display and benefit from the work ethic that had made him so successful during his undergraduate work and was awarded several honors for academic achievement during his four years he attended the college.Dr. Donald Sonngraduated and was awarded his M.D. in 1991. Sonn’s medical education continued when he was accepted into the residency program at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Residency programs are a necessary part of a doctor’s training and every doctor must complete at least one lasting an average of three years. But Doctor Sonn went through two different programs. He spent two years as a resident in the department of surgery. This would prove a vital stepping stone on Sonn’s path to becoming a surgeon. He then spent the next four years as a resident in the urology department. In total he spent six years in the program and achieved a number of honors including first prize at the 41st annual meeting of the Korean American Medical Association and the role of Chief Resident during his final year of residency. His academic skill was also shown by the number of journal articles that Sonn published during his residency. In total, Sonn’s work was published six times by various medical journals over the course of his residency. Upon completion of his residency in 1997, Donald Sonn joined the Urology Group (http://www.ucomparehealthcare.com/drs/donald_sonn/) of Western New England where has worked ever since and achieved a number of professional honors including serving on the board of governors for several medical organizations, the “Excellence in Teaching Award” from the Tufts University School Of Medicine and being named Chief of Surgery at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA. Dr. Donald Sonn: Annual Physicals and Screenings

It might seem impossible to skip out on that last meeting or report, but taking the time to care for your health is vital to your long-term success and well-being. Even if nothing appears to be wrong, visiting a doctor to address minor issues, hereditary illnesses, and common diseases for gender and age can help find any health complications at the earliest stages. Implementing preventative measures and speaking with your doctor to optimize your health are some of the best ways to be healthy and the most productive in your work and personal life. Dr. Donald Sonn, a Urologist who is currently a part of the Urology Group of Western New England, encourages regular screenings to his patients. He specializes in impotence, prostheses, and stone disease as well as brachytherapy, robotic surgery, and prostate cancer. Making the time to schedule important annual physicals is even easier with insurance companies often covering the full amount of preventative services. This means that most insurance will cover annual exams and preventive services without charging a copay or co-insurance even if the yearly deductible has not been met. Having healthy employees is a great benefit for companies as well. Employees who schedule annual screenings, take flu shots, and lead healthy and active lifestyles are far more likely to have better attendance at work, be more productive, and file fewer health insurance claims with large price tags attached. Encouraging loved ones to make appointments with their general practitioner or specialist in any areas of concern is important. Many adults are hesitant to find time in their schedules for appointments that are not addressing areas of immediate concern, but this is a mistake. Preventative measures and early detection are both key in treating many life-threatening diseases. Finding any health issues in the early stages can make the difference between life and death in many cases. Recommended Read: https://drdonaldsonn.wordpress.com/2015/11/16/dr-donald-sonn-medical-professional/  Dr. Donald Sonn is an adamant proponent of yearly physicals and having an open line of communication with his patients.
