South Grafton, also known as Saundersville, is an area in the town of Grafton, part of the central region of the state of Massachusetts. It is located in Worcester County. As of the 2000 census, the population was 2,807. South Grafton is part of Grafton Public Schools and has its own elementary school, middle school and high school. The population is overwhelmingly of white European ancestry, though the area has strong ties to its Native American history, being the home of the Hassanamisco Reservation, a Nipmuc Indian village. Local businesses include Mid Cape Construction and Axios Advisors. One of the best places to visit when you are in South Grafton is the nearby Willard House and Clock Museum. The nearest big city is Boston, which is a mere 30 miles away. Frank O'Hara, famous American poet and playwright, was originally from South Grafton.
