Goodman Eye Medical & Surgical Center

WARNING! I would be cautious about using this eye doctor and would not go here. Our family experience has been a financial mess from the first bill. We asked them if they took Humana - they told us they did. So we went ahead and scheduled an appointment. A few weeks later I get a bill from their medical billing department saying I owe the whole bill? I called the office and the first question I asked was do yo take Humana and they said yes. Well, I dropped a bomb on them and said no they didn't because it was rejected by Humana. Obviously no one in the office knows whats going on. So they passed me over to the billing department. I called them and tried to work it out, They said it was my responsibility to check of in network doctors. I agreed. I should have done my diligence and found out from Humana if Goodman Eye was in network but I didn't because I trusted the office. So this was an issue, luckily I have secondary insurance (Tufts - EyeMed) So I had the billing department submit the bill to Tufts, (or supposedly they were supposed to). Now its a month later and I get a bill from them once again. Obviously, their medical billing department did not submit the bill to Tufts. So now, I will have to submit the bill and fill out a claim form with Tufts myself because they are incompetent and have no idea what they are doing over there. But its business as usual to them. They could care less about the people who wanted to establish a relationship with them but the burnt a bridge I am not willing to repair. I am sure Dr. Goodman is completely unaware of this situation which is even worse since he's the boss, and ultimately he's responsible for every aspect of his business all the way down the chain. His integrity is something I would question and would seriously schedule an appointment elsewhere. Good luck if you do, and double check with your insurance company and make sure they have him in the list because his office has no clue what insurance they take. ...read more
