A real Irish pub in Western Mass!! Finally a place to get solid food, a nice casual atmosphere and one that has an incredible beer selection. I have now visited the new McLadden's several times since it opened. The service has been solid. I highly recommend the lobster mac and cheese as well as the nachos- they are HUGE! The friends that I have dined with have all enjoyed their meals as well. The place is leaps and bounds ahead of the prior establishment at that location. It is safe to say that there really is no better option for pubs anywhere around- in fact I find the food to be better than any of the other restaurants in Hampden and surrounding towns. Only minor complaint is that they badly need a beverage menu (which I was told is coming soon) to list all of the zillion beers, wines, scotches and the like that they carry. Save your receipt when you go to this restaurant! I went for a nice dinner with my Fiance and left a $10 tip and when I checked my account 2 days later there was a $20 tip instead. I am a manager at my own restaurant and I know that servers manually put in the tips to the computer. I tip based on experience and this gentleman deserved the 15% tip I gave him not the 25% tip he gave himself. Best steak in valley the black delmonico, wanted seconds. I really enjoy the scantic pub. I thought there was live music every weekend but was there on a sat. and no band. Maybe next time. People compair the scantic to spoletos and la cacuina . Spoleto is a cafateria some people like that but for more of a dinning experience Scantic far better food seems much better wih larger portions.
