After becoming a Christian on-board ship in the Navy in the mid-'70s, I went on to visit several dozens of churches over the next 20 years or so, acquiring a practical understanding of denominations in the process. Several books which I found on doctrinal perspectives confirmed my views, & I concluded that I needed to find a church which had the Bible's own presupposition of the authority of the Word of God.
