My husband and I were asked to attend a session with our daughter and her husband, who amongst other things has been verbally/mentally abusive to our daughter. As we sat through the session it became very apparent to us that she was more for the "bully" than the victim in a relationship that has abuse in it. She was very against including the couples extended family for support in any way, that as a couple they needed only themselves-she seemed to be isolating them away from all family members. During the session she also aloud my son-in-law to speak to us in a very disrespectful and aggressive manner and stood by his actions if we reacted to it. She conducted the session in an unfair manner-allowing only my son-in-law to speak his mind and not allowing us to a have full say. Overall we felt she has put our daughter more at risk than helping our daughter and her marriage.
