What video camera should I buy? There are so many options out there today that it can be confusing to decide What video camera should I buy?.  You have camcorders that load tapes, others that load DVD-R and others that have hard drives or flash memory.  When someone asks me this question I ask them back , "what are you planning on using it for"?  This tells me more about the person,  "I want to take video's of my kids",  I'm taking a vacation", "I want to make web video's", or "I'm using it for business".  There are so many great options out there (= confusion for many) but asking this tells me where to point them!   If you are keeping records of your kids growing up I still prefer the tape and dvd options.  Many choose the flash and hard drive type and "loose" footage because they are just not diligent in backing up there footage (onto a computer hard drive).  Having the physical tape library works beter for these people, they take out one tape, put it away and load another! then no footage is ever lost.  You still can load it into a computer if you want and put it on the internet too. (It takes a few extra steps but still is the right choice!) If you were a real estate professional and have a "here today gone today" work flow then a flip camera is a great way to go!  It fits into your pocket, takes great footage for the internet and is quick to post things onto the web.  You shoot, you flip out the USB, connect to your computer and presto it's ready for prime time!  So when your in the market for a video camera ask yourself "what am I planning on using it for" and this should point you in the right direction!  I hope this was helpful to you.
