Angry Mother

I am a single mother with two small children renting from Lis Property Management and I am sick and tired of trying to get them to come out and do something about the roaches and mice situation that we have going on here. If you're looking to throw away $1,200 a month in rent and live in the the most deplorable conditions you can imagine then this place is for you. I wish I could upload the videos that I have so that you can see exactly what I'm talking about I do have proof and I'm not making things up this place is horrendous do not bother.

Pussed off tenant

This is the worst place by far to live in it is infested with mice roaches and a lot of other rodents if you have children I highly recommend you do not try to rent from these people because they will do nothing about the problem they simply ignore your plea for any kind of repair or maintenance but yet have no problem collecting their $1,200 a month rent

ALAN HAS NO PROBLEMS!

On the 27th day of October, 2009, I signed a two year lease for an apartment at Haldeman Manor Apartments, Haldeman Ave. & Roosevelt Blvd. That's three and a half months. No, the carpeting is not brand new, but the entire kitchen is, icluding the microwave. Also a new ceiling fan and air conditioner, electric baseboard heat and bathroom upgrade. There is an on site maintenance team that responds to any problem as needed. Cooking gas and hot water are included in the rent. We do not have a private security force, but we do have locks. I would advise a security system if you are inclined to have break-ins. You get what you pay for! Sometimes, maybe a little more! Alan has no problems with Liss Property Group!

What do you want to know?

When you live in the Cottage Court building you will be receiving a Heating bill from a company called NWP. Whenever there is a heating issue Liss directs you to NWP for assistance. After contacting NWP i found that they are not a utility company they are a billing company. So liss buys the heat in bulk and then sells it back to its tenants. Here is the problem with that and probably the reason they have it this way. There is only one meter in the basement so they only know what the building as a whole uses for heat. Liss divides this by the number of tenants to come up with the Heat usage for each unit. The thing is that there is no way for tenants to adjust the heat. I had to have my air conditioner running in the winter months just to cool the place down becuase it was so hot! 80 -90 degrees in the apartment during January and february. In the 3 years I lived there i only turned the heat on 1 or 2 days. High Heat bills when you never even turn on the heat! It just pumps all the t

Disgusted Manager

I was so excited about the thought of renting an apartment that has "NEW" everything like all the ads say.

When you get to the Leasing Office to view an apartment, you find out that the advertisements are FALSE and misleading.

Kitchens and Bathrooms ARE NOT new, some apartments have newer carpet, others don't.

The NEW microwaves they advertise - I was instructed by the woman in the office, that the new policy is NO microwaves in the kitchen anymore and only 1 A/C per apartment.

A hidden fee that is not explained up front for a PA rental license fee is charged at the time of leasing signinng for $50.00' What is that all about; I have rented several apartments, and never had to pay a RENTAL license fee - isn't that something the Property Management normally pays?

Another thing this company does is during the LEASE signing, you have to sign that if you do not renew your lease in one year, they will KEEP 1/2 of your security deposit. SHOULDN'T YOU BE TOLD THAT FIRST???

Nice on the outside, Terrible once you move in

A terrible company to do business with. Make sure you have an attorney review your lease BEFORE you sign, as they charge absurd fees.

Want out of your lease? It'll cost you 3 months rent. At their Franklin Square Townhomes property, they rent a large number of apartments to a Mental Rehab Center, so you have gentlemen sitting outside all day & night, talking to themselves, vomitting, asking for cigarettes.
NOT A FAMILY ATMOSPHERE.
They advertise a "sparkling pool" that you can use- this is NOT TRUE. The pool hasn't been operational for years- but they don't say this before you sign the lease. Security is terrible- my apartment was robbed 3 times while I was there- and the response I got from the office was "It's not our problem".

If you manage to survive a year, and even if you leave the place in PERFECT CONDITION, they will still charge you a half a month's "redecorating fee".

Too many questionable fees, too many shady characters & business practices. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Terrible company to deal with

1. ) They do NO preventative maintainance
2. ) They do NOT spray for bugs even though they say they do
3.) If you are 1 day late over the grace period, ever, they hit you full up with charges, including a lawyer fee
4.) Absolutely NO desire or care whether or not they keep a resident. You are a number to them,... 1 of 3000 is what I was told I was.
5.) Any maintenence they actually DO is done by the local guy, no matter what. I had to call in my own heater repair man after not having heat for a week and their guy was in 4 days in a row trying to fix it.
6.) They will do anything to hold your security deposit, even if your apartment is not damaged or dirty.
7.) 1 month eviction notices. I lost my job Dec 15th, had another job by Dec 22nd, fell $300 late but paid my full rent for the follwoing month. They "carry over" your "old late amount" and not what remains of the current, so they can evict you faster. it's a brutal tactic.
8.) I'd have more but, I'm out of space, stay away
