If I could only see one plantation, this would be it. (Cost: $10) The home is beautiful, but the most amazing part of this property is the "alley" of aged oaks that form a high arch that leads to the house. The peacefulness of this enclave with birds singing is truly lovely. Mint juleps are offered in a "keeper" plastic cup and they are GOOD and not shy on the bourbon, ($5) We had lunch at the restaurant, and the atmosphere is nice/casual and clean but not fussy. As in most of this area of Louisiana, there is not much offered for low-fat diets, however I would recommend the chicken fricassee for an alternative selection. Other than that most items are fried. I did ask for (and was nicely accomodated) grilled shrimp on my salad rather than fried. It was very good, and the shrimp were seasoned perfectly.
