They are slow (90 min so our food arrived cold), expensive, and have terrible customer service (one of our entrees was wrong and they didn't seem to care). Will never use their service again!!!! ...read more

GOD I wish i could give this place no stars. Had packages dropped off there and was told that they would ship fedex ground. I filled out a slip and wasn't told that i would prepay for ground instead of it posting to my fedex account. So the f*&^ers, instead of calling me (as they said they would if any problems were to occur) to run my card for fedex send it overnight at a overall cost of 230 dollars to me. Then when i call they won't even help and refuse to take responsibility for their bull&@#t. stay away from these idiots. \t\nThis is soooo typical of service within much of the french quarter. They don't care about service at all. They're just lazy twats that think they can have your money anyway. ...read more

My husband and I spent three weeks travelling from NYC to New Orleans as part of a long-awaited honeymoon funded by the guests at our wedding. Throughout the trip, we bought 38 postcards, one for each guest who had helped us on our way. Saving them all up, we arrived at New Orleans and posted them all together at the Royal Mail Service. The guy said that he needed to frank them but to leave them with him. We paid. We left. And now, over a month later, not a single one has arrived, despite being sent to the US, Canada, Australia and the UK. Seems kinda coincidental, doesn't it? Something tells me that not a single one was franked, and these were utterly irreplaceable. Heartbreaking. ...read more

The UPS Store

This store just doesn't live up to the UPS store name. Had items packed and shipped by them and they did a very terrible job. Some items got damaged during transport and they took a VERY LONG time to send the items. If UPS wants bad publicity, they need to have more store owner's like this. If they want to protect their name during these times of competition, they ought to take away the franchise from these folks. Would NEVER use this store again for items won at the auction house close to this location. One must go elsewhere if they want their items delivered undamaged! I will complain to the auction house regarding this UPS store and recommend that they choose another store as a recommended shipper. Do your research and read the review before using this store. Very unhappy with their service! What a disregard for items made over 100 years ago. ...read more

FedEx Office Print & Ship Center

I love FedEx, but not this location. It's like walking into a slow motion zone - - which can be really distressing because the meter maid lurks outside giving tickets to cars parked in what looks like legitimate parking spaces. I usually have to park pretty far away and when I have several boxes to drop it means more than one trip - very inconvenient. The employees are so unfriendly- mostly I've just been ignored - like the first time I went and asked repeatedly where the drop off area was and the employee just turned and walked off; a few times I've made eye contact, but I got the evil eye, like I was bothering them. I dread to go here, but our FedEx pickup guy won't always come after 11:30 a.m., and I can't make it out to Metairie in time. The drivers are nice, though. ...read more

Brigtsen's Restaurant

Do most people not know of this place? A few I spoke to (who were well-versed in the New Orleans restaurant scene) had never heard of it, and the cab driver who took us there claimed he only got locals going there and couldn't believe we knew about it. Maybe it's that it actually involves a drive, but it's not too far from the French Quarter (is actually a nice drive and a good chance to see more of the city) and is completely and utterly worth it. Amazing, mouth-watering food. Incredible, romantic and unique (an old Victorian cottage) atmosphere. A staff that was friendly and lacked any kind of snobbery. And the price... what a great value! Out of our group of 8, our favorite dish was the veal and oysters...and for the dessert, the strawberries with tres leches cake couldn't be beat (though the double chocolate cake did come in a close second). All in all it was a GREAT experience, and is tied with Stella! for our favorite restaurant in the city. Yum! ...read more

I took a group there recently, all from out of town, and they were duely impressed! The place was packed, but they accommodated my last minute reservations for 7 quite easily and gave us exceptional food and service. The food was excellent at representing local food products, those grown and raised here, such as local seafood and local strawberries, greens, and more! A fantastic restaurant, they lived up to their reputation for my group! ...read more

I've heard fantastic things about Brightsen's, so I was expecting a lot. It was definitely a very pleasant experience. The service was stellar, the ambiance was nice - quiet and pleasing. But the food was only good. It wasn't the best food I've ever had, which is the reputation Brightsen's has around these parts. Granted a lot of attention is paid to the prep and flavoring of each dish. But it just didn't taste that distinct from other fine restaurants I've tried. It's definitely worth a trip - just don't get your hopes up too high. ...read more

We love Brigtsen's...and our last visit might've been the very best. My seafood platter was extraordinary...the crawfish pesto sauce and sea scallop stuffed with asparagus flan were particular standouts. We always have the shrimp remoulade appetizer to start the juices flowing, and this time we had the catfish appy, on stone ground jalapeno cheese grits with a sauce picante and black bean relish. Superb! ...read more
