Re: earlier review. I don't expect them to cheerfully handle prepaid packages for which they receive zero profit. Their profit margins are tight. But, there's no reason to have attitude either, especially if there is other business being done there. And, in their defense, they really do have a shortage of space there. I would want to allocate space for boxes (regardless how light) to my paying customers too, if it were me.\t\n Although the general staff is nice and at times really helpful, that one notorious manager was rude to me over the phone after Katrina and that caused me to cancel the mail box I had there. I'd been giving them my money, and that makes me the patron. When I turned in the key, I explained what happened & I did get an apology from the staff. In fact, some of the employees are exceptionally service-oriented.\t\n On the plus side, they do make an effort to keep their prices reasonable and the neighborhood really needs this kind of place to exist. ...read more

As a small business owner, I try not to write too many bad reviews for other small businesses. But when the owner says under his breath, 'I wish I were dead.' you know the guy must hate his job, or hate dealing with people...\t\n\t\nI was told to not bring prepaid packages there anymore. According to him, they don't have room for large boxes...and they're a mail service. He sighed and rolled his eyes when I set a large, but light, box on the counter. He also mumbled something under his breath when I brought a prepaid International shipment to his attention.\t\n\t\nThis is the first time I've dealt with whom I believe is the owner in the 6 times I've been there. Very rude. I will say the staff was very nice the other 5 times I was there. I had started using Prytania Mail (about once a week) to avoid bouncing around town with my packages for USPS, FedEx and UPS. Most of the time, I have 1-3 packages that need postage, and another 1-3 that are prepaid. I know they don't make much if anything on prepaid boxes...which is why I only used it when I had something that needed postage. This was the first time I came in with only prepaid stuff, and I was treated very rudely. Though, I hadn't had any problems until now.\t\n\t\nI know there's another mail service down on Magazine, just a few short blocks away. I haven't been there, but it might be worth trying out. I'm actually a bit nervous about all my boxes being sent out....proceed with caution!\t\n\t\n ...read more

Recently I had three mistakes in my mail delivery, one sent to my address and it should have gone one street over, next I received a check that had "delivered to wrong address" written on it before it arrived at my home and third I am still awaiting a package containing a piece of Jewelery which has apparently gone to the wrong address and NOT returned. I called twice tothe 1-800-275-8777 talked to someone and was assured I would be contacted within 24 hrs. Never have heard from anyone reguarding this missing package. Referemce Numbers given over telephone are CV 42786504 AND CO 42829980. I have call waiting and answer machine and no contact has been made concerning my inquiry. Is there anyone working at the post office? These three mistakes took place within one week. ...read more
