If you are a woman if color, stay clear of this store! The employees here will hound you and watch your every move and radio each other what shoes you are looking at to check the prices and talk about you while following you. I walked into this store for the first time since they were having a closing sale. After purchasing my shoes, Upon leaving they asked me to checked my bags. I did not see anyone else getting checked and they said it was store policy. I have never felt so violated. Three staff then surrounded me, one holding the phone as if ready to act if they found something other than shoes in my bags. I left the store feeling quite violated after they created this scene and the only thing they can say is there is an increase in theft so they randomly check customers. I love this store!! I wear a 9 1/2 N and cannot go anywhere to find shoes. They carry some of my favorite brands, Donald J Pliner, Cole Haan and Vaneli!!! I am in my early 20's and wear some high heels but I also like to have medium heels. They have every style from ballet flats to high heel boots!! I wouldn't say they are geared to older clientele, just that they have something for all ages. My best friend (who wears a medium) and I go often and we have several shoes from La Mode. I love how friendly the ladies are! They always remember us and even remember my size when I walk in. Just seems really formal yet inviting (nothing like the mall!)
