Kristin is such a great dental hygienist. She is so thorough, checking every detail of your teeth. More than that, she has real empathy in listening and responding to you, as a person. I always feel so comfortable with her. She displays her intelligence concerning your teeth in her gum measurements. How she can remember all those numbers, it amazes me! As a Head Lice Removal specialist, I have had the pleasure of helping many amazing families end their nightmares with head lice. I have also learned some pretty wild ways people have tried to "do-it-yourself" that have not been successful and some sound just gross. My favorites are listed here: Covering the child's head with mayonnaise overnight - yuck, shouldn't mayo be reserved for bread and potato salad only? Covering the child's head with olive oil - hhmmm, can I get bread sticks with that? Covering the child' head with vinegar - are you seeing a pattern? Someone is craving a salad, no? Covering the child's head with Vaseline - every child's favorite... Shaving the head - it is effective, but Ashley really misses her pigtails. Shaving the pets - had zero effect but looked kinda neat. Flea treatments - why, the lice treatment was one isle over? Rubbing ice on the child's head - I just shook my head. Covering the child's head with Listerine - Jack said it burned but his ears were kissable fresh. Feeding the child coconuts - really? Why couldn't this myth use chocolate, it is just as effective? I don't recommend trying any of these, as the only thing I have seen them be effective at is making children think their mothers are crazy.
