About Mammoth Cave, KY
Mammoth Cave is a very famous area found in the central part of Kentucky and known for the world famous cave system there and from which it takes its name. Obviously the main attraction in the area is the Mammoth Cave system, which contains over 300 miles worth of passageways, and it grows with each year as new discoveries are made. As far as the area is concerned it is centered around the Mammoth Cave, with most industry centered on the tourism aspect of it. Edmonson County, where it is located, is a county of only about 12,000 residents, meaning that there are not really any significant schools or businesses to speak of in the area. There are also no significantly famous people to speak from the area, with the closest being professional baseball player Joe Blanton who grew up in the area.
