I believe this tax preparer is way over priced. I am new to the area and I felt comfortable going to Mantrom because Mr. Mantrom appeared qualified, but is not a CPA. I didn't want to or expect to pay CPA prices. But I did. My taxes are still very, very basic requiring only 1040 forms and one scheduled form. I used to pay roughly $100 in Louisville and Mr. Mantrom arrogantly charged me $245. My part is that I did not ask the questions I intended to ask him, such as his price, prior to beginning our taxes. He met me at the door, shuffled me back to his office and immediately began working on my taxes. I wish I would have asked him ahead of time how much he intended to charge!
