Nick's Grove Inc

Went to a close friend's 50th Birthday party at Nick's Grove. I don't believe anything was complimentary despite the fact my friend had at least 35 guests who where all ordering from the menu, etc. \t\nAnyway, the service sucked...everyone was eating at different times and the steak I ordered was probably the worse one I have ever seen in any restuarant. I ordered a medium and got a burned one....I was pretty sure they reheated someone else's wrong order and served it to me. They brought me another one after making a big deal with the waitress and the manager. I was waiting for the owner to show up and in order to give them approval to replace the nasty piece of meat that was on my table. By the time I was finally served, everyone was finished eating. As for the staff......very unfriendly and they appear to really care if you where enjoying it or not. I got the impression that they really didn't want any new customers!!! I will not be going back there during this lifetime....unless I am forced. I would not recommend them to any of my friends or neighbors. ...read more

Just went to nick's couple days ago. The business was started light but packed up pretty quick. The space between tables are very small so there is no privacy at all. We sat between a 4 people and a 12 people table, and we could not hear each other's talking. We had chicken in wine (small portion for 14.95) and fried chicken. The food is ok, to me is average, nothing really special. \t\nThe highlight is fireworks for someone's birthday and tasty rye bread. ...read more

Peking Restaurant

Students placed a large order and were surprised at a $30.00 difference in the price from what the menu advertised. They placed the order at 2:55pm expecting the lunch special prices, but when they received the order, the time on the receipt was 16:02. The order taker did not inform them that lunch special prices were no longer available. Furthermore, when the delivery person arrived he asked for the tip before giving them the food. I understand the service industry, but most don't, especially high school kids and it is unfair for the "waiter" to get "stiffed", however it is not acceptable for the "waiter" to withhold the order in lieu of a gratuity. Perhaps the restaurant should include a delivery charge for orders over a certain amount if being "stiffed" is a persistent problem. The restaurant did send complimentary doughnuts, but they did not make up for the miserable experience. We won't be ordering from Peking Boy again. ...read more
