Horrible sports memorabilia shop. What little "memorabilia" they have is very hand made looking and very over priced. Pictures that look like they have been printed off the internet and put in a frame for $350. Also their customer service is terrible, they claim to not have time to look at items for you. Then when you come back when you know they'll have plenty of time i.e. a Friday afternoon at noon, they say that your item is not worth their time to look at. To top it off if you have a very high priced item, don't even waste your time taking it to them, they will claim it is a fake and offer less than one quarter of its true value. Please do yourself a favor next time you think of stopping in here, Don't. ...read more

Recycling is best for all of us.

If everyone does not get started recycling and moving us toward a far more Eco-friendly people, we’re in for big problems. If you are serious about recycling, you should learn all the things that can now be recycled. Plastic containers and soda cans are not the only stuff you should really recycle. If you’re throwing any printer cartridges in to the trash once their empty, you're only contributing towards the problem. Make an effort and recycle them! Simply switching, to generic cartridges does not necessarily mean you are doing all you can do to be environmentally friendly. All of us got the earth in the mess it is in right now. It is about time that we, were responsible for our actions. If you never thought of recycling your cartridge, you’re not alone. It is actually a very simple process. Their are many places you can return cartridges for recycling. Most all of the businesses that sell them have a way of returning them. Once returned the cartridge makes its way to a cartridge recycling facility where they are separated and examined by skilled professionals. All parts that are worn, are replaced with new ones. Next they’re filled with high-quality ink or toner and sealed for testing. Each cartridge is tested for leaks and any other failures. If they do not pass they go back through to process again to see if they can be used. If not they are discarded to be melted down for other uses. Once they pass these tests however, they are packaged up and made available for resale. You may have even used one of these cartridges before without even knowing it since they are not sold as "recycled". They’re known as "re-manufactured" cartridges, plus they’re among quite possibly the most economical and Eco-friendly solutions to print documents at your home or office.  If you have been making use of "re-manufactured" or compatible ink cartridges for any prolonged time, then you know just how good they really are. In addition to doing your part to recycle, you are also saving money by buying "re-manufactured" ink&toner cartridges. Also you are not giving up the high quality printing you have been use to by using "re-manufactured" cartridges. The "re-manufacturing" of ink & toner cartridges has been around now for the last 25 years. The industry has grown to produce great quality comparable with the original cartridges. All "re-manufacturers are now ISO certified. Remember as well all the benefits of recycling. First we help the earth recover from the mess we put it in by reusing what we have made. Secondly we save ourselves money with the lower cost of "re-manufactured" ink & toner cartridges. Lastly we make this a better earth for future generations that will follow us because we were smart enough to care. The majority of the resources which go into constructing an ink cartridge aren’t biodegradable. Think about that the next time you chuck a cartridge into the trash can.  Printer ink or toner cartridges never need to end up in a landfill. Contact Bluegrass Ink and we can help you save by recycling and using re-manufactured cartridges. Curious as to what kind of discount printer cartridges are suitable for your printer? Bluegrass Ink gives you a wide array of choice on generic ink and toner cartridges for your printing needs. You will find the printer ink you need at www.bluegrassink.com or send us an email at info@bluegrassink.com ...read more

Printers, good things to know.

Printers are one of the most important peripherals for any computer these days in order to produce hard copy. It allows users to produce a tangible record of electronic data created and stored on their computer. While printing presses still hold the number one spot for mass production of high definition results, many professional print and graphic businesses utilize a computer printer for fast and good quality prints. There are five types of personal computer printers currently available today. Depending on your needs one can be better suited than the others. These five printer types are Dot Matrix, Ink jet, Laser, Thermal&Dye; Sublimation. Lets look at each one individually to see what their strong points are. Dot Matrix has been around since the dawn of computers. Dot Matrix sometimes called an impact printer utilizes a print head containing several metal pins that strike against a ribbon to produce print on a page. An  impact printer or dot-matrix printer, is a low-definition device normally used in the printing of cash register receipts or invoices. Mostly a monochrome printer, but with some you can get black&red ribbons. Normally a very noisy printer, but it has it's uses still today. Ink jet printers are more common to the office and home use. It is quieter and faster than the Dot Matrix since it works by squirting fine jets of ink from ink cartridges onto the paper. Modern printer technology has also brought the multifunction printer, also known as the All-In-One (AIO) printer. This type of printer caters to the user who prefers an all-purpose device in a single unit. Most standard All-In-One printers can be directly linked to outside peripherals like memory cards, flash drives, or even image-capture devices like digital cameras. The multifunctional characteristic of the All-In-One printer allows it to function as a scanner, a printer and a fax machine, all found in just one printing  device. Ink jets can produce both monochrome as well as color printers.  Laser printers are another printer type that is toner-based and uses the principle behind photocopier technology. One such toner-based printer is the laser printer, which makes use of dry powdered ink and laser beam technology. Laser printers are the preferred printer for a speedier turn-out of high quality prints. They are usually the printer of choice for office or corporate settings. Laser printers can be monochrome only or color. Thermal printers use heat to print on special heat-receptive paper and are normally found in portable calculators, check out lane receipt printers, and label printers. Thermal label printers are mostly used by business for labeling products or shipping items. Most thermal printers are monochrome only, but can be gotten with colored ribbons and or labels as specialty items. Dye Sublimation is used in making cards such as loyalty cards and credit cards which are the most common.  Dye Sublimation , as a process is really very simple. It is the method of applying an image to specially coated plastic cards, using three main ingredients: sublimation ink, heat and pressure. Dye Sublimation can produce either monochrome only or color images. There are several variations of connections for most of these printers such as local cable(i.e. USB, parallel, serial, and network cabling). Most can also be linked to wirelessly by Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection. More and more are being used wirelessly as we try to cut the cord. With the advent of digital cameras, photo printers have seen an increase in popularity. Formerly high-priced and used only by professional photographers, the photo printer is now more accessible to the digital camera-owning public. Photo printers normally contain more ink cartridges compared to the standard ink jet printer in order to duplicate the color range seen in the viewfinder of a digital camera and to produce more realistic, high definition pictures. There is currently a surge of compact photo printers in the market today. These photo printers turn out standard size 4" by 6" prints and do not even require the use of a computer. ...read more

Which Barcode Technology do you need?

Thermal Barcode printers support multiple symbologies right out of the box. The more commonly known barcode printer manufacturers include Zebra, Datamax-O̢۪neil, Intermec, Sato, TEC&TSC; . There are two ways barcode printers print barcode, the first method is Thermal Transfer and the second method is Direct Thermal. Direct Thermal isimpregnated with a reactive coating on the paper itself. As the paper passes under the print head the heat in the print head activates the coating in the paper and the image becomes visible. This is similar technology that is used in most Point of sale receipt printers.Thermal Transfer makes use of a ribbon, either Wax, Was-Resin or Resin. The ribbon is heated and the image is etched on to the label in a pre-defined area. Larger barcode printers usually have the ability to switch between direct thermal and thermal transfer. One disadvantage of thermal transfer is that the ribbon needs to be changed quite frequently if you are printing a lot of labels. If you are using the barcode printer in a manufacturing environment, there could be a lot of downtime. A direct thermal printer is faster and is useful particularly where speed is required. An example would be in a hospital where each patient warded is given a barcode to identify them. Thermal transfer allows you to print barcodes on a wider variety of materials than direct thermal. As such, the type of material you are going to print barcodes on is one of the more crucial factors in determining which type of barcode printer to purchase. Any purchase of a barcode printer has several factors to consider. What will the label or tag be put on? How long does the label have to last? What kind of external contaminants might it come in contact with? (i.e. blood, corrosives) Does the tag need to be removable? What size requirements are there? These are just a few of the questions to ask when looking for the right Barcode printer to fit your needs. Barcode Printing technology has evolved tremendously over the last few years. Lately, barcode manufacturers have implemented several security features to ensure there is no counterfeit coding. The latest models of barcode printers are capable of printing labels with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Devices) tags in them. Such security features are mandatory in some highly sensitive industries and help to provide a guarantee of authentication ...read more
