Atlanta Market Trip in July

The Atlanta Gift and Home Furnishings market just ended yesterday after a week of exhibitors showing their new products and buyers making purchases for the fall.  This was all happening in the three buildings of AmericasMart in downtown Atlanta.  I went to the market for a specific purpose this year: to aquire more bedding and window treatment suppliers.  I made contact with some good vendors and will hopefully be able to launch the new product lines within the next month.  I thought attendance by the buyers was good, but exhibitors were down.  I did see some new things, though.  One thing I noticed was the feathered trim on pillow shams and woven throws.  Another was a lot of zebra!  Several showrooms were showing an industrial look but with a lot of natural elements mixed in.  Very unique.  I had to make it a quick trip this year, but all in all it was a good market for me and my clients!  ...read more
