My brand new kitten went to Randy Oehmke for a declaw. He sent her home the same night with no antibiotics WITH bandages still on. They told us that she'd work off the bandages by herself or we could cut them off in 24 hours.\t\n\t\nThe bandages did not come off, so we took her in to get them taken off. When we got home from the visit, we noticed that her paw was swollen and cold. We took her back in. Her leg was dead. It would have to be amputated. He did not apologize or offer to pay for amputation. WE DID NOT EVEN GET REIMBURSED FOR THE DECLAW FEE! He said-- "these things can happen when you're working with living tissue."\t\n\t\nI realize that the turnicate-like tight bandaging was probably done by a tech, but kittens should not be sent home the same day OR without antibiotics. ...read more
