This was our first daycare experience. We opted for a center over a home daycare because we felt that there was a better adult to child ratio, and more strict regulations to follow. My child was sick aprox 4 times in the short time he was there. At four months of age he came home with a black eye. I asked them how it had happened (seeing how my child couldn't crawl, roll over or move on his own) they said they didn't know. after that there were a couple more incidents with scratches and bruises. When we asked to see their video tapes we were told they were conveniently broken. and last but not least. My child was having a hard time taking naps. He was fine in the beginning but for three weeks he wasn't napping. I finally figured out they were giving him applesauce (NOT with my approval) with high fructose corn syrup. PURE SUGAR!!!!!!! no wonder he wasn't sleeping. that stuff can cause ulcers, diabetes.... the list goes on. needless to say we are in a home daycare now. ...read more
