No extra charge for Sundays, and they were able to get to me quickly. Tree roots clogged the main sewer line, which started backing up into the basement. A few years ago, a Roto-Rooter tech augered out to 100 feet, and the sewage drained. Unfortunately it rose again a few hours later because there were more roots just beyond 100 feet. Knowing this, the A-1 tech, Jim, was very upfront about the process, costs and options. He mentioned that a map of local sewer lines might be available online, which is how I discovered that the manhole cover at the back of my yard sits atop the city's line. Jim was very conscientious about time and cost. In an hour and a half, he was able to auger just beyond 100 feet, and we visually confirmed that water was flowing freely through the line (the one upside to having the manhole in your backyard). The fact that he was able to stretch it just beyond 100 feet to reach the city line saved me a potential upcharge for 150 feet. I would use them again. ...read more
