Being a military family, we search for our homes in new locations via the internet. I found the home we currently rent from Oz Accommodations through their website. I felt I was "seeing" the house personally from all the wonderful, detailed photos which showed each room in the house. We leased the house before ever arriving in the Kansas City area. We have been pleased with Oz Accommodations from Day 1 of our initiating contact with them.\t\nI was always able to reach Scott Abbey, the CEO/Broker for Oz either via phone or email, and he always responded quickly. The property we lease is in a nice area and a great school district. We've lived in many rentals over the past 15 years, and this property was the exceptionally clean! When an issue arrived concerning these pesty little "no-see'em" bugs this past summer, a pest control company was quickly sent to our home. (Pest control is provided by the owner of the property, which typically is NOT covered for renters.)\t\nWe have had ZERO issues with Oz Accommodations and have received nothing less than FANTASTIC customer service! Scott and Michelle even stayed in the office late on the Friday we arrived in town so that we could meet them and pick up the keys to the property.\t\nI know that Oz has gone through some restructuring over the fall and that Scott Abbey is the only owner now. Michelle Garcia is now the VP. I think the 2 of them are really trying to turn around the image of the company and make things right for both tenants and owners. They also have a live person answering the phones at the office now.\t\nI advise people to give Oz Accommodations a chance. Speak openly with Scott or Michelle about any concerns. Having much rental experience and having managed our own properties myself, documenting the condition of your home within 24 hours of move-in is a MUST! Educate yourselves as renters. And take all the reviews you read on places with a grain of salt, even this one. People are quick to write negative reviews but rarely take the time to write good ones. I have had many, many issues with Oz Accomdoations:\t\n\t\n1. They hardly respond to email, and when they do, they blame all the delays on the home owner, even after they have stated the home owner has approved to move forward with the maintenance items.\t\n\t\n2. I have a long list of items that I have been waiting on them to fix since I first moved in. Its' been nearly 3 months now.\t\n\t\n3. They sent a maintence man to our residence without our approval. If it wasn't for our dog, I'm sure he would have entered the property when our minor daughter was home. ...read more

First, my history. I am a real estate broker with 21 years of experience. I have never written a negative review, ever. However, this company has given a new meaning to poor service. The loan officer, Todd Vogel, was at best slow to respond. After over a month of emails and promises to call, I heard his voice only one time. He seemed to disappear during the transaction and seemed to have no information. Their "senior closer" Robin Petefish, was an out and out rude B!^(#. Her lack of knowledge of real estate transactions was only surpassed by her ability to be rude about our efforts to clarify that what was being forwarded to the title company had to be corrected in order to meet our client's needs. The closing finally took place after threats from Robin Petefish to cancel the client’s loan because she didn't like my replies to her rudeness. Escrow closed without insurance in place.
