Pamela Doak @ Elite Hair
By R A October 25, 2015
if you ever check out Elite Hair Salon, stay away from Janet Howell: she over-processed the hilights, she never advised on the type of shampoo to use, she single handedly caused irreversible hair damage and simply destroyed my hair, and after that, she never even offered a deep conditioning treatment, my hair is falling in crumbles - nothing is stopping the shedding, I have to cut it and wait it to grow healthy, I hope this review saves other clients a lot of suffering, ...read more

Winter Hair Care
Winterizing Your Hair Care Experts say harsh winter weather and a change in temperatures can be hair's No. 1 enemy. From hat hair to static electricity, split ends to dry frizz, when winter weather hits, a bad hair day can last an entire season. Here's some suggestions; 1. Use conditioner after every shampoo Using a conditioner can significantly improve the look of damaged or weathered hair, decreasing static electricity, improving strength and offering some protection from harmful UV rays. 2. Indentify your hair type and cycle; "If your hair is fine, or fragile, you want to control oil or buildup. Very thick and coarse hair might need even stronger cleansers to keep it clean. 3. Massaging your scalp for a few minutes each day will stimulate circulation and remove dead skin cells, helping to prevent dandruff. When washing your hair, concentrate on cleaning primarily the scalp, rather than washing the entire length of hair. Washing only your hair can create flyaway hair that is dull and coarse. 4. If you live in a hard water area, don’t over-lather a ‘dying’ shampoo. Instead, wash it out immediately and re-lather with more. 5. Never allow your hair to stay wet for long. In the winter, you should never leave the house without drying your hair. 6. Setting your hair dryer on the cool mode while blow drying as cool air damage your hair less though it might be a little time consuming. 7. Have regular trims. Any stylist will recommend you visit the salon every six to eight weeks to zap split ends and encourage the hair to feel healthier. 8. Most people do not drink enough water during the winter months. The fact, however, is that the human body requires water to stay hydrated particularly in the winter. Water will help ensure that your scalp and hair stay hydrated. 9. If you lead a busy life and don’t have time to cook, supplement your diet with the hair-building vitamins B6, B12, evening primrose oil, folic acid and a good multivitamin. 10. Stress and negative emotions can play a part in hair loss, flaky scalp conditions and excess sebum (oil) production. Find time to relax. ...read more
