The city of Assaria, named for a local church, is located in Saline County, Kansas, in the Salina metro area. Major attractions within minutes of Assaria include the McPherson County Old Mill Museum and Park, where you can learn about local history and the Salina Art Center, which houses three exhibition galleries, a multi-purpose area and classroom and hands-on arts laboratory area. One of the best places to visit when you are in Assaria is the nearby, Kanopolis State Park, located in the Smoky Hills region of Kansas and the state's first state park and with camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, horseback riding and biking.
