About Warsaw, IN
Nicknamed "Lake City" for its proximity to numerous lakes, Warsaw Indiana is the county seat of Kosciusko County. Though nestled in the heart of farm country, the town is known for its Orthopedic manufacturing companies, including DePuy Manufacturing, Zimmer inc. and Biomet. In fact, the town is the birthplace of orthopedic manufacturing, as Revra DePuy founded DePuy Manufacturing in 1885 as the world's first manufacturer of orthopedic splints. Work has begun on the Lake City Greenway, an eight mile trail for bicycling, jogging, walking and rollerblading. In 2004, Warsaw celebrated its Sesquicentennial.
