Petersburg is a city located in Pike County, Indiana. It is the county seat and is part of Washington Township. It is part of the Jasper Micro Area. There are two coal-fired power plants located in Petersburg. They are the Hoosier Energy's Frank E Ratts Generating Station and Indianapolis Power and Light's Petersburg Generating Station. In 2008, the city hosted the Official Indiana State Picking and Fiddling Contest. It has hosted the contest many times in the past.
