Have you seen our YouTube video for Sow-N-Sews?

Yes we have one.  One that was made a Ball State University Student as part of a video project for their course; this one show a project I am doing for a City of Muncie Police Officer, and allows me to talk about our once combined business Army Navy Surplus of Muncie (ANSOM) and Sow-N-Sews Custom Sewing and Repairs. Our main business is actually the Ministry support the Sewing shop provides; freeing me to share the Gospel, and keep any help we provide as Outreach within our community free of charge. Doctor released me back to soweing/sewing

Its been a while, and I have been wanting to get back to doing some work in the shop with the wife and grandson.  Well this month marks the return of the Old Sow N Sew, back to doing just that; and in the past week, I have been getting back into shape by doing some production sewing for APS, and some unique sewing for a collector and doing a belt/harness for a prosthetic leg client. It is really great and I thank God for endowing and developing my design and sewing talents over my lifetime, so as to provide a way in life for our family; it is nice to be self-employed and to be able to work for others on a balanced basis.  Being able to provide opportunity for myself, my wife, and now our grandson. Our client base is very diverse, as is our offerings, and I would not change anything about this, save to maybe add some new equipment to our shop that would enable us to do even more of what we are called upon from time to time to design, modify, repair and custom sew.  I have had some work done to the sewing shop; we have had the floor repaired, we have added a second sewing machine, and added a new pet friendly screen door and small AC.  All this makes it easier for us to do what we do best, and that is to service our clients when they come to us, and now they can rest in AC, and we have the small refrigerator working too, and will have some kind of cold drink in it, be it water, soda or tea of some kind. We are still "Retired", so we still don't keep formal hours or days of operation; and ask everyone to call or text or email us to make an appointment, and absolutely call, before just dropping by, to make sure we are available.  As always, we will do our best to service our clients on an as available/needed basis. ...read more

The Mondo Bag series of bicycle bags

Recently I have been working on a newer series of bicycle bags, I call the Mondo (World) Bag.  This series will range form two, three, four, and even five compartments that can hold a wide range of contents that will rival seat and handlebar bags, and be able to fasten and unfasten quickly and be used as a form of shoulder or possibles bag, with a detachable shoulder strap that simply and quickly clips on and off the bag. The bag series will be made from a combination of 600 D-Pack-cloth and 1000 D-Cordura nylon both of which are waterproofed coated on the back insides and durable water repellant finished on the top outsides.  The bags mount and dismount using hook and loop fastener, and is design to mount on male crossbars, and front fork of a bicycle; all models feature a loop top that allows for additional application of map cases, Cell phones, or combination Cell/GPS, and more. At this time, sizes range from 8 Inch to 11 Inch bags, to accommodate different contents and frame designs.  Each bag is "Custom" made to fit the desires of the rider, and the frame(s) of the bicycles the rider may choose to ride on different terrain.  # 8 coil zipper is standard, but # 10 coil zipper is also available, as is different trim, and reflective materials, for higher visibility. ...read more
