I am a dedicated cyclist, having done RAIN, Hilly100 and many many century rides.\t\nThe folks at Bicycle Hospital have been very helpful and friendly to me over the years. Their shop may be small but I always enjoy the drop-in-on-a-friend-for-a-chat ambiance. The owner is very knowledgeable about bikes and the bikes and service both very reasonably priced. IMPD report number DP11122590. DG Bicycles on the Monon (1407 E. 86th Street) was in possession of stolen goods and attempting to sell one of the stolen bicycles described in the IMPD report on Ebay. The bicycle was not located on the showroom floor in plain sight with other used goods, but was located in a back room. According to statements made in my presence, and which may or may not be recorded in the IMPD report, the firm did not collect any identity information on the alleged seller of the bicycle and made no obvious attempt to sell the bike locally, on Craigslist, in the classifieds, or on the showroom floor. This is very odd for attempting to sell goods obtained legitimately. The business practices of this firm are, at very best, highly unethical.
